ℹ️ Create Information Granules

Information granules allow you to deliver content without an associated exercise. Here's when to use them and how to create them.

⏱️ The Essentials in 3 Minutes

• An information granule delivers content (text, image, video…) without asking the learner to complete an exercise.
• It is particularly suited for introducing new information, demonstrating a gesture or procedure, or quickly converting slides into training content.
• The display can be customized via three options: layout, style, and format.
• It is also possible to generate sequences of granules from the editor using AI.

🧠 Understanding the Pedagogical Value of the Information Granule

The information granule is the foundation of content delivery in Didask. It requires no action from the learner, which makes it suitable for situations where the objective is to introduce a new concept before any practical application. Used well, it lays the groundwork for the exercises that follow. Used poorly, in excess or as a substitute for exercises, it reduces engagement and limits memorization.

🕐 When to Use an Information Granule

An information granule is appropriate in three situations:

  • the learner has no prior knowledge of the topic and needs to receive information before being able to apply it;

  • you want to demonstrate a gesture or procedure and focus attention on observation;

  • you want to quickly convert existing slides into training content.

⚙️ How to Create an Information Granule

  1. From your module, click "Add content".

  2. Under "Add an information granule", choose one or more blocks from the available types: Text, List, Image, Dialogue, Video, Audio, Document, Embed, or Image analysis.

💡 You can also generate a sequence of granules directly from the editor using AI. To learn more: Create training content using AI.

🎨 Customizing the Display

Once the granule is created and your content blocks are added, three options allow you to adjust the display of content blocks:

  • Layout: choose from predefined layout examples.

  • Style: customize the theme and section backgrounds.

  • Format: select the vertical margin size (S, M, or L).
