⏱️ The essentials in 3 minutes
What custom fields are and what information you can collect with them.
How they appear in the registration form and on user profiles.
Where to find them (profiles, exports, API) and how to get them set up (paid add-on).
🧠 Why custom fields matter
The better you know your learners, the better you can support them. Custom fields let you link each learner to their professional context, such as employee ID, business unit, site, or country, directly within Didask. No parallel spreadsheets, no HR database to reconcile.
This data enriches your reporting, makes it easier to segment your learner cohorts, and can be pushed to your internal tools via the API.
📌 Example: Say you have an international organization with 3 business units. You add a Business Unit field (dropdown) and a Country field to your registration form. When you export data, you can filter statistics by BU to compare completion rates, and send the data to your HRIS via the API.
📋 Available fields
Default fields (included on all accounts by default):
First name
Last name
Email address
Employer name
Custom fields you can add:
Employee ID
Business unit
Country
Site
Internal identifier
Any other data relevant to your organization
🎨 Configuring a custom field
Each custom field can be configured to fit your needs.
Setting | Options |
Field type | Free text, or dropdown with predefined values |
Required | Mark the field as required at registration, or leave it optional |
Editable | Can be viewed and updated at any time from the user's profile |
💡 We recommend using a dropdown for fields that need to stay consistent across your organization, such as BU, country, or site. This ensures cleaner exports and makes filtering much easier.
💻 Where to find your data
Once filled in, your custom field data is available in three places:
On the user profile, where it can be viewed and updated at any time.
In XLSX exports, where it is automatically included in your main exports (learner activity, progress, and course progression).
Via the public API, for integration with external tools such as your HRIS, BI platform, or data lake.
💡 No more manual data cleanup: all your enriched learner data is available in a single export.
