🧠 Understanding the Pedagogical Value of the Placement Test
In a training group, not all learners arrive with the same level. Requiring everyone to complete the same modules creates boredom for advanced learners and discouragement for beginners. The placement test solves this by allowing each person to start where they actually are: experts skip ahead to advanced content, beginners strengthen their foundations first.
⚙️ Configuring the Placement Test
In the project's general settings, enable placement test creation.
Add a placement test at the start of the project or at the start of each chapter (if your project contains chapters).
Write the introduction paragraph and select the exercise granules to include in the test.
Enter the title visible to learners and a cover image.
Choose whether to display the trainer (name and avatar).
Back on the module list, click the 👁️ icon to enable (or disable) the test.
💡 How Does the Test Work?
The test considers that a learner does not need to take a module if they have passed all the exercise granules in the test that are associated with it. The module is then automatically marked as completed and factored into overall progress.
The test is optional for learners, but the platform reminds them of this step at the start of training.
👀 What Does the Learner See?
Pre-validated modules appear as completed in the course. The learner immediately sees what they still need to do and can focus on content that is genuinely useful to them.
📊 Tracking in Statistics
In the course statistics, the "Pre-validated" column shows the number of learners who validated each module via the test. In individual tracking, pre-validated modules appear as completed.
