⏱️ The Essentials in 3 Minutes |
🧠 Understanding the Purpose of the Final Exam
Unlike exercises in granules, the final exam measures learning outcomes across the entire path under conditions close to a real test: no immediate feedback, random order (if configured), score to reach. This is the mechanism that formally validates training completion and determines whether the certificate is awarded.
⚙️ Configuring the Final Exam
From your project, hover over the "Final evaluation" section at the bottom of the screen and click "Edit content".
Available settings:
Setting | Details |
Title | Title displayed to the learner |
Trainer | Optional trainer display |
Introduction | Introductory paragraph |
Minimum score | Percentage required to pass (70% by default) |
Granule selection | Granules to include in the final exam |
Number of attempts | 1, 2, 3, 5, or unlimited |
Maximum duration | Time allowed to complete the evaluation |
Random order | Shuffles the order of questions on each attempt |
Answer review | Allows or prevents the learner from viewing their answers afterwards |
Usable granules: exercises only (MCQ, categorize, ordering, interactive image). Information granules cannot be added. You can use granules from existing modules, even if those modules are not published in the path.
ℹ️ Create granules that will appear only in the final exam and not in the modules
When you create a new exercise granule intended to be seen for the first time only during the final exam, it is important to hide it in the course. This prevents your learners from seeing the same questions twice (once in the module, once in the final exam). To do this, click the three-dot menu to the right of the relevant granule, then click "Hide in course".
💡 Impact of Granule Type on Score
If the evaluation contains a single "Categorize" granule, the score will be binary: 0% or 100%. For a more gradual and representative score, prefer multiple MCQ granules, each with two options (true/false).
👀 What Does the Learner See?
The evaluation is only accessible once all modules in the path have been completed.
During the evaluation, the learner does not receive immediate feedback on their mistakes, unlike standard exercises.
At the end of the attempt:
Evaluation passed: result and score displayed, certificate unlocked if configured.
Evaluation failed: result displayed, new attempt possible according to the configured number.
If a maximum duration is set, a countdown timer is displayed during the evaluation.
ℹ️ The validation status is recorded as soon as the learner completes their attempt. It does not change if the required score is modified afterwards. Set the required score at the design stage.

To obtain a program certificate, the certificate must be activated/configured at the program level. To receive their certificate, the learner must have completed all paths in the program.
If an evaluation is present at the end of each publication in a program, must the learner pass all evaluations to receive a program certificate?
