🧠 Understanding the Pedagogical Value of the Interactive Image
Some skills are less effectively assessed with MCQs: identifying a danger zone on a construction site, locating a button in an interface, spotting an error in an assembly. The interactive image exercise lets you test these skills in context, by asking the learner to interact directly with a visual that represents their professional reality. The format also encourages attention and active observation, unlike a simple descriptive text.
💡 Typical Use Cases
Software or interface usage: click the correct button or menu.
Technical gestures: identify the correct intervention zones (first aid, maintenance, safety).
Reading diagrams or plans: locate elements on a map, an org chart, or a circuit diagram.
Clue hunting: analyze a scene and identify the relevant elements.
⚙️ How to Create an Interactive Image Exercise
In your module, add a granule and choose the "Interactive image" exercise type.
Write a context if needed by adding the available content blocks (text, image, dialogue…).
Click the 📏 icon to choose the color of the interactive zone and to hide the small "+" icon.
Click "Edit exercise" to fill in the question and any additional explanation.
Import the image that will serve as the basis for the exercise.
Define the clickable zones on the image. For each zone, indicate whether it is a correct or incorrect answer (by checking the dedicated button).
Write the feedback associated with each zone.
In the right panel, adjust the position and size of the zones if needed.
Save and exit.
Add a key message if you wish.
⚠️ This exercise cannot be used in a positioning test or a final exam.
💡 Using interactive images in multilingual paths? Good news: it is possible to fully adapt this content to each language in your project. Once you have selected the desired language in the language selector (at the top of the project) or at the bottom left of the granule editor, access the relevant granule and click "Edit exercise" to translate the question and/or add a new image.
