🔑 Add Key Messages

Key messages allow you to summarize the essential concepts of a granule and make them easy for the learner to refer back to. Here's how to configure them.

• A key message is added directly from the granule editor, after the content.
• It appears on the learner's side at the end of the relevant granule, to be marked as read before continuing.

🧠 Understanding the Pedagogical Value of Key Messages

After going through a granule, the learner has absorbed new information, but without reinforcement, it risks fading quickly. Key messages play the role of active synthesis: they isolate the essentials, reduce cognitive load, and create a memorable reference point. The end-of-module summary then reinforces consolidation by reactivating these concepts one final time before moving on.

⚙️ How to Add a Key Message

  1. Open the editor for the relevant granule.

  2. Add your key message after the granule's content. The editor displays the message as it will appear to the learner (WYSIWYG principle: What You See Is What You Get).

  3. To delete a key message, click the trash icon in the top right.

👀 What Does the Learner See?

At the end of the granule: the key message appears once the learner has gone through the granule. They are invited to read it and mark it as read before accessing the next piece of content.

At the end of the module: a summary of all the module's key messages is displayed. The learner can thus review all the essential concepts at a glance before moving on.
