🎓 Understanding the Learner Experience and Statistics of the Corrected Assignment

What your learners go through during the corrected assignment, and how to interpret the data available in your publication statistics.

Written by Océane

⏱️ The Essentials in 3 Minutes

• The learner writes a free response, submits it to the AI Coach, and receives targeted feedback on 3 objectives.
• Each objective is assessed at 3 levels: taken into account, partially taken into account, not taken into account.
• For objectives not met, the learner has one additional attempt to improve their response.
• In statistics, the corrected assignment is treated like a module: progress at 0%, 50%, or 100%.

🧠 Understanding the Pedagogical Value of the Corrected Assignment from the Learner's Side

The corrected assignment does not end when the response is submitted. The real learning happens in the feedback loop: the learner reads the feedback, identifies their gaps, and reformulates. This cycle of production-correction-improvement is one of the most effective mechanisms for durably anchoring a skill.

For designers, the statistics make it possible to measure whether the assignment is fulfilling its role: a high drop-off rate or an unusually short time spent are signals worth investigating.

👨‍🎓 The Learner Experience

1. Completing the Assignment

The learner follows these steps in their course:

  1. Read the instructions.

  2. Write their response freely.

  3. Submit their response to the AI Coach.

  4. Read the targeted feedback on 3 objectives.

  5. Improve their response if certain objectives have not been met.

2. Achievement Levels Per Objective

The AI evaluates each selected objective at 3 levels:

Level

Meaning

✅ Taken into account

The objective is met - nothing to add.

⚠️ Partially taken into account

A complement is needed.

❌ Not taken into account

The objective needs to be reworked.

For levels ⚠️ and ❌, the learner has one additional attempt to improve their response.

3. End of the Assignment

The assignment ends in two cases:

  • All 3 objectives are validated on the first response.

  • The learner has submitted their improved response (whether or not they met the objectives).

📊 Interpreting Statistics

Global Statistics

In the publication's statistics page, a section is dedicated to the corrected assignment. It displays:

  • the name of the corrected assignment;

  • the number of associated objectives;

  • the estimated duration;

  • the number of learners who have completed the assignment.

Individual Statistics

In the individual statistics export (at the bottom of the page), the corrected assignment appears as a module with the following columns:

Column

Detail

Assignment name

Name of the corrected assignment

Technical identifier

Internal ID

Progress

0%: not started / 50%: in progress / 100%: completed

Time spent

Actual time spent in the assignment

💡 The assignment progress is also visible on each learner's user profile.
