🔎 How do I open my browser console?

This article walks you through how to open your browser console and capture what's on screen, so you can share the technical details our support team needs to look into the issue.

When something isn't working as expected on Didask, the cause isn't always visible on screen. The browser console is a built-in tool that surfaces error messages, warnings, and other details about what's happening behind the scenes.

With access to this information, our team can:

  • Pinpoint the cause of the issue faster

  • Cut down on unnecessary back-and-forth

  • Get you to a resolution more quickly

Sharing a screenshot of your console helps us help you faster.

1️⃣ Open the browser console

  1. Right-click anywhere on the page where the unexpected behavior is happening

  2. In the menu that appears, click Inspect

  3. A panel will open on the side or at the bottom of your screen

  4. At the top of that panel, click the Console tab

2️⃣ Reproduce the issue

  1. Make sure the Console tab is selected

  2. Go through the steps that trigger the issue

  3. Messages and errors will appear in the console automatically

  4. Take a screenshot, or ideally a screen recording, of the full sequence of steps leading up to the issue. This helps us reproduce it on our end and identify the cause.

3️⃣ Capture a screenshot or screen recording

📸 Screenshot

  • Keep the console open and visible

  • Take a full-page screenshot that clearly shows the browser console

  • Before sending, make sure the messages in the console are legible. Then email the screenshot along with a description of the issue and any relevant context to [email protected]

Not sure how to take a screenshot?

🎥 Screen recording (recommended when possible)

  • Start a screen recording using gifcap.dev or any screen recording tool you prefer

  • Open the browser console

  • Reproduce the steps that trigger the unexpected behavior

  • Stop the recording once the issue appears on screen

  • Send the recording along with a description of the issue and any relevant context to [email protected]
