Design statuses (Work In Progress, To Validate, Validated, Broadcasted) enable a structured workflow for your instructional teams during course creation.

What this means for you:

  • Optimized course organization: Design statuses help track each stage in the course development process, ensuring clearer, more structured project management.

  • Enhanced collaboration: Teams can quickly identify content ready for review, under revision, or still in development, improving coordination among instructional designers.

  • Precise progress tracking: Course development progress is tracked accurately, allowing focus on priority tasks.

💡 Understanding Design Statuses

  • In Progress: Use this status when a module is still being developed and needs further adjustments.

👉 You’re a course creator adding new modules or activities.

  • Pending Approval: Use this status when a module or activity requires review from other team members or stakeholders.

👉 You’re collaborating with other authors and waiting for their feedback.

  • Approved: Use this status when all modules and activities have been reviewed and approved by all team members, ready for publication.

👉 All course authors have approved the module, and it’s ready for learners. You can change the status at any time (the "Validated" status is not final or irreversible).

  • To be published / Published: this is a single status - the wording changes depending on whether the project’s publications have been distributed.

👉 The "To be published / Published" status determines whether the module is included in the content of the publications linked to the project.

🔎 How to Set a Status

In the Studio, simply select the design status for each module or activity.
