📢 Transform your e-learning into a personalized learning experience that adapts to learners' needs by activating a Placement test” at the beginning of the training.

↪️ The result? Learners will be guided to the modules they really need!

❓What is a placement test?

To ensure that learners only see modules they haven't mastered yet, you can add a placement test to your publication. This allows them to spend only the necessary amount of time on their training.

The principle: the test assumes that learners do not need to take a module if they have successfully completed all the exercise granules associated with it.

💡 When should you use the placement test?

In practice, learners do not necessarily have the same level of skill at the outset, so they will not all be able to grasp the same educational content. For example, beginners will need to reinforce certain prerequisites beforehand, while more experienced learners can start directly with more advanced content.

Therefore, offer your learners a placement test at the start of their training to find out which modules they have already mastered and focus on those that need more attention.

🛠 How does it work?

1) In the “Project” tab, click on “Placement test”, located below the chapter title, to activate it.

2) Next, select the exercise granules that you feel are representative of your training. Note that only granules containing simple exercises can be added to the placement test.

🔎 Studies show that the best level of difficulty is slightly higher than what the person can handle on their own. Choose the most difficult questions to get reliable results.

💡 We recommend:

Choose two or three questions for each module so that the test is not too long.

That's all! The solution will then generate the appropriate experience. The test will be given to learners at the start of the training course.

💡 How do you delete your placement test?

If you want to delete your placement test, here's how:

To start, click the box next to "placement test" and then click "uncheck."

Click on "Delete placement test" in the pop-up window.

💻 How does the learner experience this?

This test is optional for learners, but the platform will remind them of this step at the beginning of the training course. Modules that have been pre-validated via the placement test appear as completed and are taken into account in the overall progress.

📊 How is this data reported?

Modules that have been pre-validated via the placement test appear as completed in the learner's individual progress report (available from your publication statistics).

In the publication statistics, the “pre-validated” column shows you the number of learners who have validated each module via the placement test.
