🦾 How to Choose the Generation Mode that Best Suits Your Initial Content

Turn your content into e-learning with Didask! Choose the “Rethink” mode to restructure your raw notes, or “Preserve” to stay true to your expert documents. AI based on cognitive science.

Didask's instructional AI allows you to quickly transform your raw content (text, notes, PDFs, audio, etc.) into an interactive e-learning module that is structured and aligned with recommendations from cognitive science to make learning truly effective.

To do this, it offers two generation modes, each suited to a different need:

  • Preserve content

    or

  • Rethink content.

This guide helps you choose the most relevant mode based on the nature of your source document and the desired level of transformation.

🔍 What is the “Rethink my content” mode?

“Rethink my content” (formerly known as “Rethink my structure”) is a generation mode that uses information from your source content while restructuring it. The final result respects the meaning of your text but may differ in wording.

🎯 When is it useful to use this mode?

👉 When your initial document is unstructured, such as:

  • a dense PowerPoint presentation,

  • raw notes,

  • a text written without any educational purpose.

This is the ideal mode for enhancing rich content that is still “raw.”

✔️ What will be the structure of the generated modules?

The “Rethink my content” mode will detect key concepts, prioritize them, and sort them in order to keep only the essentials.

  • You can then choose the number of granules that will make up your module.

  • Choose the proportion and distribution of information granules and exercises you want.

✅ The advantages of this generation mode:

  • Creative and attractive results

  • Restructures disordered or unsuitable content

  • Concise and engaging writing for the learner

  • Highlights essential information from the source document

🔍 What is “Preserve my content” mode?

This is a new generation mode that preserves the source content but slightly rephrases it and adds educational supplements (definitions, exercises, memo sheets, etc.). The final result remains very close to the original text.

🎯 When is it useful to use this mode?

👉🏻 When the source document has been thoroughly reviewed by experts: it is structured, the order of the information must be respected, and the content must not be summarized.

👉🏻 When the subject matter is very specific (legal/security/compliance).

✔️ What will be the structure of the generated modules?

The course structure will faithfully reflect the organization of the original document, similar to the old “Use my document structure” mode.

  • At the module level, the AI will automatically determine the number of granules and may generate more than 10 if necessary to ensure complete coverage of the content.

  • In order to preserve the source material and facilitate quick review, the result will include more informative granules than exercises.

  • The number and location of exercises will not be fixed and will vary depending on the content.

  • In this generation mode, you will not be able to choose the module format as you can with “Rethink Content.” This is precisely to ensure that the content is as faithful as possible to your original content.

💡 What happens when I check the “word for word” option to preserve content:

“Word for word” allows you to create an online training course that preserves the source content and does not rephrase it at all. This mode is ideal for creating content that remains extremely faithful to the source material. Due to the strict nature of this generation mode, we recommend using it for topics where fidelity to the source content is non-negotiable.

✅ Advantages of this generation mode:

  • Balanced fidelity and adaptation.

  • Respects the structure of the source document.

  • Easy to compare with the source document.

  • More educational than pure word-for-word transposition.

In summary:

  • Rethink ➡️ transform, clarify, reorganize.

  • Preserve ➡️ Respect, conserve, ensure reliability.

This choice is essential for obtaining a Didask module that meets your educational objectives while respecting the nature of your source document.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Are these generation modes available at the project level or at the module level?

Both. You can choose to generate content at the project level or at the module level, using either mode, depending on your needs. Currently, you can import a document at the project level, but not at the module level. We plan to change this in the near future so that documents can be imported at both the project and module levels.

Does this affect my existing content?

No, none of your existing content is affected by this new generation mode.

What should I do if I want to get the same type of generation that I had until now?

Our past default generation mode, “Build on Structure,” will no longer be available, as “Preserve My Content” is intended to replace it. However, if you need to use it, there is a workaround: 1️⃣ Use “Preserve my content” when generating your project. 2️⃣ When generating each module, choose “Redesign my content.” 👉🏻 The combination of preserving the structure and redesigning the content mimics the “Rely on my document structure” mode.
