At Didask, two access management models coexist to adapt to different training needs: licenses (or spots) and credits (single use). Here is a simple explanation to help you distinguish between them 👇
🚗 1. Licenses
Licenses are similar to parking spaces: when a space is free, the next driver can park there.
💡 The principle:
A license works like an available space:
As long as it is available, a learner can use it.
It is reassignable: by deactivating an account, the license can be given to another user.
Flexibility: ideal for companies that train their internal employees on an ongoing or progressive basis.
Activation/deactivation possible at any time as needed.
✅ Example:
A company purchases 50 licenses → it can train 50 people simultaneously, or train 200 people over the course of the year by deactivating and reassigning accounts.
🔁 On the contract anniversary date:
The counter is updated each year in accordance with the Special Terms and Conditions of your contract.
Activated accounts continue to consume a license.
🎟️ 2. Credits
Credits are like movie tickets: once used, they cannot be reused.
💡 The principle
A credit can only be used for an e-learning course, not for a program. If you wish to use them as part of a program, the number of credits will be deducted based on the number of courses contained in the program.
A credit gives access to an e-learning course for a single user. Access to the course is valid until the annual license renewal date, which you can find in the Administration > Licenses tab of your platform.
It is non-reassignable: once used, it is consumed, even if the learner does not complete their training.
This system is preferred by training organizations, associations, or companies that train external partners, clients, or beneficiaries.
⚠️ There is no concept of deactivation here, as the credit is for single use.
✅ Example:
A company purchases 500 credits → 500 users can access a training course. Each credit is consumed upon activation.
🔁 On the contract anniversary date:
The credit counter is reset to zero.
Users from the previous year are not automatically deactivated, but no longer consume credits (unless a learner returns to the course after the contract anniversary date).
🔎 3. Additional information
When a training program using Credits includes multiple courses, one credit is charged per user, per course (not per program including multiple courses)
The mode (Licenses or Credits) is defined when the space is configured by Didask (in the Administration tab of your platform).
The interface adapts: “Licenses” or “Credits” is displayed depending on the mode chosen.
🔢 4. User statuses and license accounting
🔍 This status system is specific to Licenses. In Credits mode, there is no deactivation.
In the User Administration section, each account is assigned a status:
Status | Meaning |
✅ Activated | Consumes a license |
❌ Deactivated | No longer consumes a license |
⏳ Pending | Account not yet activated - Does not consume a license |
💡 5. Summary table
Criteria | Licenses (spots) | Credits (single use) |
Reusable? | ✅ Yes (with deactivation) | ❌ No |
Access duration | As long as the account is activated | Ends on the anniversary date of your annual license |
Accounting | “Active” status = consumes a license | Credit consumed upon access to a publication |
Target audience | Internal employees and external customers/partners | Customers, external partners |
